Cinerama
Le Cinerama est un procédé aujourd'hui disparu qui utilisait 3 caméras 35 mm en parallèle. Au cinéma, la restitution se faisait avec 3 projecteurs 35 mm côte à côte. En dehors de quelques documentaires, seuls quelques longs métrages ont étés filmés intégralement en Cinerama. Le film "How the West Was Won" (voir image ci-dessous) est sorti en Blu-ray dans une édition prestigieuse en import que propose HD LAND. L'image de ce titre qui a fait l'objet d'une remasterisation d'exception et d'une restauration du négatif à prix d'or est l'une des meilleures actuellement en Blu-ray. Le Cinerama apporte une vision grand angle tout à fait différente du 35 mm et plonge littéralement le spectateur dans l'image. Une déclinaison Russe du procédé était utilisée à l'époque soviétique sous le nom de Kinopanorama.

70 mm Blow-up
Le 70 mm est un format d’émulsion pour les négatifs 65 mm mais aussi pour le 35 mm. Le procédé intitulé "Blow-up" a été utilisé pour un certain nombre de films à grand spectacle afin de pouvoir être diffusé en salle en 70 mm 5 perforations, IMAX argentique, voire Cinérama.

A la fin de la guerre de sécession, le général Custer à 19 ans et refuse de retourner à la vie civile. Il est envoyé dans le Dakota où se prépare une bataille décisive contre les Indiens Cheyenne à Little Big Horn...
Le soir du 30 septembre 1952, le cinéma fut transformé à jamais avec l'arrivée du Cinerama. Ce procédé unique d'écran large, recréant la totalité du champ oculaire humain, fut lancé lorsque la télévision faisait craindre l'abandon des salles. De Madrid à Edimbourg, de la Scala de Milan aux Etats-Unis, This is Cinerama procure une expérience unique du cinéma.
Le fabuleux voyage depuis Oslo jusqu'à New York d'un bateau norvégien avec à son bord de jeunes matelots encore inexpérimentés. Un périple à travers l'Océan Atlantique magnifié par des images tournées en Cinerama pour un documentaire qui fut l'un des plus grands succès salles de l'année 1958.
